No, this is wrong. The -9 on the left is not being added to the stuff inside the bracket, it is being multiplied by it, so you can't get rid of it by adding 9 to both sides.

Multiply out the bracket first, collect like terms and then simplify:
-9 (6 + x) - 2x = -10
<=> -54 - 9x - 2x = -10
<=> -9x - 2x = -10 + 54
<=> -11x = 44
<=> x = -44/11 = -4.

yes! but i did i differently. the first step is to distribute to get rid of the parentheses. add the like terms and the rest is easy! good luck
