I have a Gateway laptop that has had problems from the get go. Now, after playing a game (it wasn't charging) the system went into hibernation and now it won't even boot up - I believe it's the operating system, does anyone have any ideas? I will never buy their brand again!!!!!

Does this happens when you are running on batteries? If so the battery may be defective or the charge is so low that the operating system setting off the alarm.I don't know the computers specs but if you don't have a powerful laptop you better not play games because the video card generates too much heat and this maybe the reason the computer falls into hibernation until it cools down.

I have found - so far - when I have a computer problem, the problem is me. But hey, that's just me.

Did you read the User's Guide? Have you checked power options in the Control Panel? Contacted Gateway?

Get out your laptop's serial number and go to this support page. You may find a "chat" rep or e-mail support. I can't go any further because I don't have a Gateway.

Check to see if your power supply is getting hot. If it is getting hot, you need to replace your power supply.

Your OS is ok..there is no problem.

I have a gateway tablet that had the same exact problem, but my power supply was getting hot, and so I had to request a new one to be shipped since I was still under warranty..

Good luck

OK

Remove the power supply and press the start button and hold for exact 40 Secs and plug in the power and start ur PC.

If this does not help u then remove power supply and remove battery also then hold the power button for 40 secs.
