Help should i make a facebook profile?

this is a really stupid question.My parents do not let me have a myspace because alot of bad things come from tht website.So i want to make a facebook but is it any safer then myspace????Would my parents be mad???Should I ask them??

If they forbid myspace and you go to facebook, yeah, I think they'll be mad. They set the rule and you know what they meant even though they didn't mention Facebook by name.

If your parents are not very net-savvy and all they know about Myspace is the horror stories they hear on the 11 o'clock news, you won't convince them until you show them what social networking is. Offer to help them make and use their own Facebook profiles so they can get comfortable with the idea. Point out that they never see profiles of people under 18, so they couldn't use it to contact minors. (Or at least not minors using their true ages.) Facebook doesn't show up in the news much, so there's less chance they'll see something to scare them off while they're trying it.

no. you put your whole first and last name on there. anyone can just search and find you. i wouldn't. especially since your rents said no. they could easily find out.
