I don't think they'll make it unfortunately. The most important reason was stated above: they're the worst team in likely the toughest division in hockey right now. That's 32 games against very stiff competition...tough for any team. They made some moves but the moves didn't really address their needs. Garon is an alright goalie but won't steal them any games and Roloson is getting older. They should score goals but they have very poor defensive defensman. Bottom line is they'll be at the bottom of the league in goals against and somewhere in the middle in goals for....not good enough.
My favorite player is Iginla (tough as nails a great leader and great skill)

Flames in 5 splendid now yet i don't think of the two will make the playoffs. Calgary does have a probability. with the help of the time they the two make the playoffs Edmonton may be a miles greater useful team than Calgary

I think they have a good shot. The west is a kind of funny sports conference. In the east no one is really sure who will succeed with the exceptions of Ottawa and maybe pittsburgh now. The rest is up for fight.
In the west however, there is somewhat of an understood concept that Detroit and Nashville will finnish 1 and 4 repectively, Anahiem and San Jose will finnish 2 and 5 and then the rest is up for grabs. This means that 3rd is wide open, not to say that they will win their division but they also have 6,7 and maybe 8th place to grab. Id expect Calgary, will win the division, colorado close behind and Edmonton squeeks in either 7th or 8th. They have a very young team with many fast skaters, their defence definitely lacks, but for offensive d, they have two of the best. lots of high scoring to come in the town of oil.
Shanahan, he always brings his hard hat to work. This guy knows what hockey is about. it shows in his work ethic.

Nope. They're just not as good as the other four teams in their division, which compromises almost half of their playing schedule. Neither Roloson nor Garon is an exceptional goaltender, and their defence is quite suspect. They have the potential to score a lot of goals, and should be quite formidable on the powerplay, but they will likely concede quite a few more goals than they'll score. Better luck next year, Edmonton.

Nope. They haven't done much to fix the team that lost every game after the Smyth trade.
