Are you solving for b?

4 + b ≥ 20

Subtract 4 from both sides. This doesn't change the direction of the ≥ (greater than or equal) sign.

b ≥ 20 - 4
b ≥ 16

Remember to read this as b is *greater than or equal to" 16.

A bit strange this one. Actually the sign is greater than not less, and the underline means "greater than or equal to".

So the equation reads 4 + b is greater than or equal to 20.

I would rewrite that to read 4+b=20 Therefore, moving the 4 from the left to the right and changing it's sign, b=20-4 equals 16.

Therefore b must be 16 or more written as b>16 (but replace my > symbol with the greater than or equal to.

this is a ray on a number line you put a dot on 16 with a
line going backward to zero in to the neg.
with a < on the end of it . This shows that 16 and everything
less than 16 makes this statement true.
