The show I'm currently working on is full of silly nonsensical actors and crew. I think that if they didn't screw around and spend their time being fake to each other we would have a much better show. I often sit among them during after rehearsal notes and listen to them ramble on and on about nothing and I wonder to myself, "What the hell am I doing here?" Have any of you ever felt that way?

YES! I once had a props manager and I asked him where our swords were and he told me it wasn't his job(Uh... they were PROPS and you the PROP manager). I later found him sword fighting out back with the other techies and I was soooo angry. And then he broke one and punched an actor and got kicked out of the show.

Here and there, over the years. Mostly, I keep my head down and work. If the show sucks, it ain't my fault. I have never quit, or been fired from, any production.

It might, however, be time for you to quit. No honor is lost walking away from a trainwreck. Conversely, you might want to take a leadership role in this production. Sitting passively and quietly bitching about a production when you can make it better is not fair to the show. Lead, or walk away. Your choice.

Yeah, the first cast I worked with was not the best, either. I pretty much just ignored the people I didn't like and hung out my friends. The second cast I worked with was so awesome, though. Just bear and grin it. It's worth it just to do the musical.
And we had a terrible set/prop person. She kept fighting with our director, who was awesome. Luckily, she moved away before our show opened. Her set sucked, though.

I have worked with wonderful companies and really dreadful ones. My worst experience in theatre was my last (a few years back). I came to the conclusion that I love theatre and hate theatre people.

No, but what the hell are you doing there? I know, bad experiences are experience too. there comes a point when your integrity has to trump everything else.
