I lived in Jerseyville until last year, and still would be if my husband didn't take a job in St. Louis. Jobwise, unless you are a teacher or doctor you will probably be driving to Alton or St. Louis to find a well-paying job, depending on what you do. Sunderland Road is pretty rural, I believe -- there shouldn't be any trouble there.

As far as things to do, there is a great library, a few restaurants, a small movie theater, and a few bars. High school sports are a big draw, especially football games. I actually usually hung out in Alton or St. Louis when I lived in Jerseyville.

Jerseyville is a rural farming community.I went to school there a 1962 grad, but moved in the late 70's I still do the local Alton paper on line. Not familiar with that particular area(sunderland Rd) but i would say it is a better family area than most of the StL suburbs.....George
