Sure.

5/7x + 1/7 = 3

First, multiply everything by 7 to get rid of your fractions.

5/7x(7) + 1/7(7) =3(7)

That gives:

5x + 1 = 21

Now, isolate the 5x:

5x = 21 -1

5x = 20

Now, divide by 5 to find x.

5x = 20

x = 20/5

So, x = 4.

Hope that helped!

5/7x+1/7=3

Multiply both sides by 7

5x + 1 = 21

5x = 20

x = 4

it would be:

5/7x+1/7=3
so you would subtract 1/7 from both sides.
then it would be:
5/7x = 20/7

then x would = 4.
