This is my third (and now last) VAIO I will ever own! The first two were AMAZING machines. This VAIO SZ Series is less than 1 year old! Traveled the least. Minor plastic crack on the side (was told by Sony they wouldn't fix that, they called it "normal wear and tear") now when I send it in to have the DEAD battery repaired and the DEAD cooling fan replaced, I am told they will not fix it, that it is OUT OF WARRANTY because of the cracked plastic! They kept the machine for three weeks and finally returned it to me UNREPAIRD!

Any help would be greatly appreciated! I seem to be at a dead end. They will not fix this machine, and it new cost me 2200$. I can buy another laptop, but that lets them not stand behind their warranty. I understand this is a "breach of warranty" and would like to know what I can do.

file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau for one. They might be able to be of some assistance. Also try to get someone in level 2 or higher support at Sony on the phone and really explain your problem(s) and issues. If they will not yield or offer any assistance in getting things made right exercise your ability to buy a different laptop this next time around in a buyer beware sense.

I like Sony products but their support stinks. I did get a big screen TV promptly replaced once when I called Sony, talked to a manager and mentioned the Better Business Bureau!
