1) Combine like terms: 6x+3=4x+11

the basic thing here is to get your variable (x) on the same side of the equal side so start by subtracting 4x from the right and the left
(6x+3 = 4x+11) -4x
2x+3 = 11
now get x by itself on one side of the equal sign by subtracting 3 and dividing by 2
(2x + 3 =11) -3
(2x=8)/2
x=4

6x+3=4x+11
collecting terms containing x on lhsand others on the rhs;
2x=8
x=4. ANS.
