Well, CGI can be used in great movies like Lord of the Rings and Jurassic Park, but is subsituted for other production values, and some truly terrible films were produced, including A Sound of Thunder (2005), a popular candidate for worst dinosaur movie of the 2000's. So being a truly terrible dinosaur movie released to IMAX theatres, Is the IMAX film, Dinosaurs Alive! (2007) a popular candidate for Worst Imax Film ever made?

I'll defend "A Sound of Thunder"! The only dinosaur seen is the one killed over and over. The others are evolutionary changes as "time waves" sweep through at different levels. I think this film is an intriguing take on Ray Bradbury's story.

My one quibble is this: Why don't they shoot the friend they've left behind instead of letting him be killed savagely by the reptile/ape creatures? It's not a good excuse that they were going to fix the error in time and revert to the "right" reality.

Don't pick on this one for worst dinosaurs if there is only one in the film. I haven't been to IMAX, and I haven't seen the film you mention.

For those who don't want to get nitpicky but would like to watch an adventure with some interesting creatures and a different take on time travel, there are much worse films than "A Sound of Thunder".

It was all right. I don't think the effects were supposed to be mind-blowing, per se. They were just to allow you to get a sense of the dinos.
