i've sold a laptop on ebay. the buyer claims that the cd drive doesn't work when he tries to install an operating system. i didn't mention anything about the cd drive on the auction page. when i checked the cd drivebefore the shipping it worked. the buyer just says he is unhappy. what should i do? i don't wanna take a return, it's a bit of hassle... please help

It depends on what you said, if anything about it in your auction.

If you said anywhere that everything worked, then in my opinion, you are obligated to do a return.

Either way, if you do accept it as a return, then make the buyer pay for shipping, and that is not part of the refund.

If you didn't mention "working CD drive" or said that "everything works" you're not required to give a refund. It was also the buyer's responsibility to pay for insurance for the package. It may be a case where he should seek damages from the shipper.

if u knew when u put it on ebay that it was not working and sold as a working unit then why even ask the ?.. u didnt have to mention cd drive if it was working but u did have to mention if it wasnt working only u know the answer ....right ...its a bit of A HASSLE when you buy something and its crap dont you think ..............!!
