Maybe the people you know don't like him, but other people in the country do.

First of all let me say that I have nothing against 50cent. I think that he is a talented, obvisously smart man. It is the image he promotes that I have a problem with. He is so smart and can say and should say so many other things to promote and empower black people instead of bringing others down and talking trash about women etc etc.
The reason why, he is in the top 10 all of the time is because the media promotes it. what is popular or what main stream America thinks Urban (black folks) are into. You may never see a social conscience rapper on the top ten because no one promotes that. The media only promotes stupid, ignorant, drunk, high, blacks because thats what main stream think we are ignorant and someone keeps proving it over and over because they are buying his "music"
When are we going to promote smarts, intellegence, good manners, and family, instead of baby mama BS
Im sorry please read this lightly. Im a fan of old school rap. I like some of the new stuff. When are we going to stop playing the dozens, with each other and lift each other up.
So
Sorry Im on a sop box but....

It's easy to be inthe top 10 on BET and MTV, because they only play 10 songs. You're an idiot if you think 50 cent is great because he's on BET and MTV. You're what's wrong with America (no offense). There are so many better MCs out there than him. Seriously what's so great about a guy who only mumbles and barely has any rhythym? Oh yeah, he was shot 9 times, so that means he's awesome.

Simple really. There are two parts to the story.
(1) Black People With No Taste &
(2) White People Who Want To Be Black.
Call me racist if you will, but really I'm not at all.
I'm just being generally observant of today's culture.
I'm white. The best emcees in the past are black. That makes sense because hip-hop started in the 70's Bronx, which was all-black at the time. Also, because black dudes have rhythm. lol. Anyway, in that time period & up to the mid-80's, the white people who were part of the game (very few), were true fanatics.
NOTE: At this time, there was NO industry.
The industry business started in the late-80's. It was cool back then, cuz they were taking youths off the streets for simply doing what they do (white or black). Eventually that industry grew lower & lower in it's concentration on skill. The INDUSTRY started looking for the hip-hop "IMAGE." You know gangsta, baggy jeans, strapped with heat, etc.
Throught the 90's, rap music was divided between UNDERGROUND & MAINSTREAM. As these two parts developed, they got more and more separated from one another. Today, there are much less UNDERGROUND fans as there were back then. These dudes were real hip-hop heads who listened to Wu-Tang, Nas, KRS-One & Biggie (ready2die). The WEST COAST took it's root in the MAINSTREAM idea by being all about the G-Funk production & Street Cred. Not a bad thang if you could actually rap. BUT, THAT'S THE PROBLEM!!! After 2000, they couldn't rap. And, by then, EVERYBODY wanted a piece of the pie because it was the MAINSTREAMERS who got all the $$$. That Idea spread from the West Coast 2 the Dirrrty South, all the way 2 (dare i say) THE EAST COAST ORIGINALS!!!!
That, ladies and gentlemen, is why hip-hop is dead. Stupid black guys (and some gay wiggety wangster white dudes) who make the albums don't understand the TRUE MEANING OF HIP-HOP!!!! And the stupid white kids and EVEN YOUNG URBAN BLACK GUYS (the same people who INVENTED the hip hop culture) are now turning to industry crud.

I don't mind 50 cent.
People are just brainwashed by the whole Game vs. 50 beef
They think if they admit to liking 50 they won't be "cool"
Yeah, maybe the dude is a snitch, but why does that matter when it comes to the music he makes?

I think it is because people are lying. It is easy to be a playa hater but when no one is around, they secretly listen to 50 Cent. You have to admit, his singles are hot. And he is little bit of Biggie and a sprinkle of Pac and a little bit of Big Pun.
All those guys promote guns too so thats why hes on BET, not wet.

There are about 400 million people in the U.S. and sales can top the charts with 300,000 sales. That leaves 399.7 million to dislike any artist.

You got to remember BET and MTV aren't independent agencies.... It's one big commercial- from the shows to the videos. It's just one big gimmick. By the way, who watches that sht anyway? Teenagers who don't have enough sense to know what good music is, they just regurgitate the sht that is force-fed to them!
