What's a good car to take on a cross-country road trip?

There will be about 5-7 people. The trip will be in summer 2009. The road trip will start in Pomona, CA and we'll be going in a counter-clockwise circle around the U.S., and we'll probably go to Mexico and Canada for a day or so each, staying close to the border. Any suggestions?

I think that you should get a Toyota Sienna for your long trip. It can fit up to 8 people with certain trims.

Any big SUV will do. You will need lots of room for that many people. If you drive into Mexico be sure to buy Mexican insurance before you go or you may get into trouble.
