Empty the recycle bin while the drive is plugged in. Deleted files will keep using space until you do that.

1. Plug in your thumb drive/
2. Open "My Computer"
3. Right-Click on the drive of your Thumb drive
4. Select the option to "Format" drive
5. Follow on-screen instructions.

It's possible what has happened here is that your thumb is hidding the files on the drive...to see the contents you will have to refer to the "Folder Options" area and say view "Hidden Files".

Obviously there is some file on it.. check that you can see hidden files.. open explorer >> tools >> folder options >> view tab >> there's a few options in here check show hidden files and show system files..

You could also right click on the drive and format it... or drop to command prompt and format it

Good luck

Simply right click on this drive and select option to format it, and you will get full space. But if there is any problem to format it in normal windows environment, then reboot your system in safe mode and format it to get back full space.

There doesn't have to be anything on the drive for it to read full. If the file system of your drive is different from the files you want to copy,(Your O.S. file system), or vice versa the drive will read full.

If you're able to see the drive under your my computers, you should be able to right-click it and click format. That should clear up all the space on the drive.
