I'm hanging some Christmas lights this year for the first time on my new house. Need some ideas and help! My house has a very high peak (one that can't be reached by a ladder) and I need ideas on how to get the lights up to that peak? Is there any tools I can buy (like an extender or something) that works good? Any ideas on how to accomplish getting lights up on a house peak?

If you can not crawl to the top of the peak, or if you are only trying to lay them on the peak (as opposed to beneath the shingles at the peak), then you can use an inexpensive extender for cleaning pools.

Depending on the height you need, you can purchase an 11 ft extender from Home Depot (it will sell for about $15 and come with clips).

Use the attachment from the Home Depot part and attach it to your pool cleaning extender and you will be able to drape lights where you need them.

Otherwise, you can rent a long extension ladder from a tool supply rental firm, or a bucket truck, lift jack or other device to get you to where you need to be.
