I am not a conspiracy theorist and believe that 19 Al-Qaeda terrorists hijacked aircraft and used them as weapons. What baffles me is the nature of the hijackings. They took over the aircraft with box-cutters and the threat of a bomb. Hijackings are nothing knew and I don't recall knives being used to hijack aircraft in the past. I believe this is more than possible but why did they use knives instead of more conventional weapons such as firearms?

Firearms are not suppose to get on aircraft but they have in the past.

I'm not trying to prove a point here. I am simply trying to figure out why the hijackers chose to use knives when there is apparently no history of hijacking with this kind of weapon. They did use fake bombs and probably tried to control the passengers and crew. Again why not use firearms as many hijackers do?
