Why are so many people down on the TBS coverage of the playoffs. I've heard three major complains

1) The announcers aren't Exciting.
2) There isn't enough entertainment (Music in and out of breaks, flashy graphics, etc.)
3) It sucks (not really a complaint, just the general statement people have been making.)

I've watched a fair amount of the play-offs so far, and I think the announcers are doing fine. Most of them are baseball guys who go into the details, and that may turn some off. But personally, I'd rather hear someone taking strategy than shouting catchphrases or rambling on like a drunk Joe Morgan. As for the entertainment, the scoreboard is slick looking, and music does play, just not that loudly (this adds or subtracts nothing for me, btw). As for just yelling "It sucks," grow up.

As far as I'm concerned, the announcers are better then 90% of the guys on ESPN and Fox (Dave O'Brien, Joe Morgan, Tim McCarver, ugg). But give me your reasons.

No, I did mean Joe Morgan. He is the worst baseball announcer/color guy in the business.

My biggest complaint with the playoffs being on TBS is there isn't a TBS HD channel - at least my cable company doesn't have one. I've been spoiled by HD. The games look like trash now on regular channels.

If you know baseball, you should be able to understand what is going on with the sound off. If it's show business you're looking for, turn on wrestling. The announcers shouldn't make any difference in whether you enjoy the game or not.

Actually it's Jon Miller, Joe Morgan is the color commentator that works with him. In my opinion, the more subdued broadcast helps me stay calm during the game, Jon Miller pours his heart out for a stand up single in a 10 run game.

I rather hear these TBS announcers than hear Joe Buck talk about what Hollywood celebrity is at the ballgame instead of paying attention to the game any day.

they are available in HD i have comcast and it is channel 761 in HD. the announcer have kind of annoying voices and are boring. They are doing an average job, but during the playoffs they expected to do an amazing job.

it doesn't hurt to be a little more enthusiastic and non biased.

if you are gonna bash the team.. at least bash the other team too.. i know it may sound selfish but .. it drives me crazy that they give boston so much love and not the angels when the angels were just a few games behind em in reg. season
.. Boston is fantastic i admit it but still

I like when Fox does it because Joe (or John) Buck does the commentary good.

I feel bad for some people that don't have cable so they can't see the game.
