Humans are analog, unlike computers which are digital, that is, 1/0, on/off, yes/no and so on. Humans deal in shades of gray, real world relationships, pi, and 1/3, things that are not exact, AND, they always change with their environment. Many psychologists have evolved theories that all humans have not only physical, but psychological needs, which shape their responses to their environments - but, the responses are analog, that is, not exact, and constantly changing - thus, there are no capital letters in describing human nature or behavior, as it is always changing.

The "nature" of man is that he alone among animals is the "rational" one. Only reason--when he uses it--prevents him from acting with the brutality of the lesser animals. When 2 lions fight, fighting is the answer. When 2 humans fight, reasoned ethics and laws must decide which, if not both, is wrong. Is reason malleable? Infinitely--to each his own, if indeed each uses logical reasoning. The chances of being wrong in reason are 5 times greater than of being right, when judged by the rules of syllogistic logic. And since we think and speak in syllogisms, "reason" is often wrong--look at Iran.

I have an irony for you: what if the human nature is precisely to change? If we hadn't changed in these millions of years for which we've been inhabitting this planet,we would be dead by now. I think that the adaptation to change is actually the meaning of "survival". We do have this tendecy to change and to adapt - and to make things adapt to us. We do it and that's how our life goes on. I wonder why you're bothered thinking whether we "should" or not change our human nature - if it doens't harm other people and as long as everybody's ok,why not change?
Obviously there are things you can't change - nobody can,as,for instance, the fact that you will die and the fact that you need to satisfy some needs in order for you to survive: eat, drink water and sleep.
PS - if we "shouldn't" fight human nature,it's too late now. We've done it too many times to go back.

This is a good question:
Christians are mostly confused about this because of the false concepts passed down from the heretical writings of Augustine.
Many believe that we are born inherently evil. The early church taught that we are born neutral. Neither good nor evil. Environment and education directs us in a path of such and so does our genetic make up have traits toward different things. We are free agents and can and do change. Once habits are formed it is difficult to change and therefore young adults often set the course for their lives and personality in their youth.
The biggest life changer is God and that has been proven by those whose lives are changed by Him.
