Yeah, they filmed part of an episode of 'Only Fools and Horses' in a local restaurant near to where I live. But then they do loads of filming round here - a certain famous West London film studio is just round the corner and the BBC is just up the road.

Leeds has been used umpteen times for filming as it is the home of Yorkshire Television studios. A Touch of Frost, Stay Lucky, Fat Friends, Emmerdale are just a few of the series filmed in and around Leeds, whereas Channel 4's Countdown, although recorded in Leeds, is of course studio based.

Victoria Wood filmed her one-off ITV serious drama Housewife, 49, in my home town. It's an adaptation of the real diaries of Nella Last, and she played the role of an introverted middle-aged character who discovers new confidence and friendships in Lancashire during World War II. I'm sure this beats all other answers!
When I was a teenager, the dance-hall scenes in the movie 'Billy Liar' starring Tom Courtenay and Julie Christie were shot in my local Palais-de-Dance.
As a regular patron of the dance hall, I and several of my friends got a week's work in the movie as an extra, and it paid better money than my regular job with meals thrown in as well ! Although I have seen the movie several times, I never did see myself on screen.
Sadly it did not lead to the life of a thespian for me.

There's been A LOT of Films and TV Series' filmed in my hometown. I've never gone to see them shoot though..... except once when i was in H.S; (high school). I went with my bro and some friends. I was interested in the technical aspect of it, as well.... it's familiar to me, and i found it interesting.
