i've been having very heavy dishcarge recently , without color, and i'm about to get my periods too because i have cramps and back pains..are these two related?

Yes clear discharge along with cramping are an indication of the period coming. Discharge that is clear in color is also normal on an every day basis thru the rest of the cycle.

Could be... alot of times when you ovulate (which is about 2 weeks after your last period) you get really heavy and really slimy discharge, kinda like egg whites! This is normal.
You should see a doctor if you begin to get yellow or green heavy discharge, discharge that resembles cottage cheese, or a smoul fishy discharge odor!
