I saw a little thing you hook up to your computer some how but do you need a wirerless modem for your computer?

Either you have a wireless signal in your house (wireless router, wi-fi) or you can use that. No you don't need a wireless router to use that USB chip. If your computer is getting internet from a hard line that little plug in will send out a Wi-Fi signal that is only recognizable to your Wii.
