Feminism has a stained name - even feminists acknowledge this.
Now, we know why this has come to be, it is with thanks to the likes of Dworkin (absolute misandrist), Mary Daly (banned boys from classes/accused them of being dumb) and even feminist politicians like Patricia Hewett who was found guilty of sex discrimination, and Hitlary Clinton who is a husband beater (glass ashtray over his head/claw marks in his face).
So, we understand 'WHY' this has happened, but I want to know - what can we men do to help feminists (and I mean the ones who claim to be feminists, but actually seem to be more about 'equality' and 'truth' as oppose female supremacy & misandry) reclaim some dignity & respect?
What do you think?

Zikiru - you have completely missed the point, and tried to put words in my mouth - giving an excellent demonstration of feminist dishonesty.

Zikiru - please elaborate on my claimed 'constant rudeness' and 'sarcasm'... I assume you'll provide links /quotes to back up your claims.

Rebel F & Ember Halo:
I have no problem with 'feminists' as individuals, no sirrreee. I do, however, have an issue with the movement that claims to be for equality - yet the leaders & icons of feminism clearly are not for equality. So why do feminists keep this label of 'feminist' when they know their leaders are liars?

Shivers, you said: "Just if women are holding out an olive branch, don't take advantage of it or see women as weak because they want to get along and help solve problems together. "
I agree entirely, but from men's perspective (specifically AF men) that is precisely what feminists have done... taken full advantage of men's willingness to help women out.

Ashliegh - Good response... Your reverse question is a problem, you see, I *can't* name any good feminists. The ones I've read about (or works of) have all been by en large, misandrists.
On a personal note, Yes - i can name some (a friend of mine called Mattie, Rebel F seems to be quite with it too, and a few others here) but I can also name some bad ones in real life (my ex's mother/falsely accused the dad of molesting my g/f to aid her custody battle).

Am more than happy to meet someone half-way.
It doesn't matter if it's feminism or masculism, point is, in this world we have no choice but to try and get along(fighting's such a pointless thing).
The best way that men can help is to try to make the effort to understand and listen and expect the same from us women.
Just if women are holding out an olive branch, don't take advantage of it or see women as weak because they want to get along and help solve problems together.
Edit: Yes, I totally agree. Men have held out the olive branch and have been stomped all over for their efforts, and that was a ***** of a thing for women to do.
I hope that women have enough sense to realise that if men give an inch and they(women) take a mile, that it's never going to cause anything other than hatred and mistrust.
Peace. :)

Your question is a rather open one. By definition Feminism is a good thing. In practice it often times falls short of it's definition. There are a great many examples that can be found in the media where those wearing the feminist label (one they openly claim for themselves) can be found in mass violently shoving their views in a rather angry and almost hate filled tone down the throats of anyone about them. Much like people don't like to have religion shoved onto them, you encounter the same when it comes the feminism. While wanting equal rights is a wonderful thing and has for the most part been accomplished in the western world, A great many of these men and women seem to be actively trying to destroy the lives of men in general. For instance. The passing of what is now considered sexual violence in college campuses. Things such as ignoring feelings, withholding sex, making any form of angry remark towards a woman can and will get you expelled without and form of proof needed. Frankly I still can't understand how with holding sex is sexual violence, but yay feminism. The exaggerated facts most feminists produce and even become violent over when proven they are wrong could also present a good amount of the problem as well. The idea that 1 in every 3 women is raped in college means that essentially either a few men are very busy and very good at not getting caught, or every man on campus is a rapist. Not exactly painting the best picture of men. The "victim" card that so many are fond of throwing in the face of both men and women tends to damage their cause as well. It's just as likely that you will be shot or mugged , male or female when you walk down a dark alley at night as it is of you being raped. But they only center on the rape of women. In the minds of most, men can't even be raped. They like to throw up that women are the larger statistic in domestic violence, but ignore the part of the same study that shows that children actually are and mostly at the hands of their mothers. So I hope that this helps you understand why a good many men and women are against feminism.

Great question! I would very much like to see men and women work together. Forget the feminist anti feminist titles forget about the propaganda and false hysteria that cloud our views of each other. Even though I am an anti feminist and the extremest feminists claim I am anti woman nothing could be further from the truth. I like strong women I like to see women earn respect I like to see a woman who is happy. I would love to help other men and women provide equality for all people. But I will never ever call myself a feminist or aid anyone who aids the very extremists who are creating the inequality and destroying families. If any one else is against these things then I will gladly help them regardless if they call themselves a feminist or not.

Wow what a surprise in all the responses. *yawns* Ever notice how when men say that the fem's should be doing something about men's rights that they all abhor the idea. They all get out their little schedules and say 'sorry but I just can't fit you in even though we are for equality'. But the minute a man wants to help them it's like 'oh my god yes that's a great idea'. So basically 'men helping women = good' but 'women helping men = just simply too busy'. I think men are just too busy helping to keep society going to be bothered with such trivialities. Why can't women do it themselves since men are expected to change society for themselves? Are they all for self-empowerment or not? If the boys are going to do it and the girls have already done it, why not just let the girls continue to do it for themselves? After all, if they are empowered, why do they need a man's help?

How can we help feminism?

We can't. Men shouldn't be attempting to help them at all. They won't ever reciprocate and our plate is simply too full right now. Besides they'll just take what you gave them and run with it. Even more feminist double standards. What a surprise.

EDIT: Amen Theodore H.! Let them do it if they want it so bad and let them do it alone. When was the last time a feminist ever stood up for a father losing his child in court? I'm thinking never. Or how about getting more men to graduate from college? I'm thinking never or at least very rarely. So if it is up to those who believe that these things should be done to do them for themselves, then the same rule applies to feminists everywhere. Don't expect men to help you at all if you won't reciprocate.

Wow I did not expect this. Awesome!!

You've taken a great step in asking this question. I think feminism should be about addressing gender equalities that face everyone, not just women. If men and women can band together and recognize the inequalities each other faces, then maybe feminism can start fighting for men's rights too (it's difficult to do this if there are few or no men in the movement).

Anyway I realize this answer was quite broad and offered no specific solutions, but I wanted to comment nonetheless.

Great question.

What can men do to help feminism? I'm not sure what we can do, but I'll tell you this: men should not do a darn thing for feminism! Feminists, who claim to be all for equality, will say that they have no time to help a man who is beaten/killed by his wife/girlfriend, and they tell the men to go get their own movement. Men do go get their own movement and they're called trolls, and the women shamelessly ask the masculists what they're going to do to help the women. Hmm. Why should we?

Bravo!

I think the first step towards true equality is to give women equal punishments for equal crimes. Why is it that women murderers are less likely to get the death penalty than men?

SUSPEND: LOL - You just reminded me of Larry the cable guy:
(Woman in crotchless panties) "You want some of this?"
(Man) "Well hell no, look what it done did to your undershorts!"

BALD: Please, tell me what men need help with and I will be glad to jump on the bandwagon. Considering that women and african americans had to gain our rights from men, I don't see what rights you are lacking. I will agree that men are not treated equally in our justice system.

Let's just delete the word "feminism" completely and use equalism instead! It sounds like such a sexist term anyhow.

i must say, the only indignity & disrespect i've gotten were by 'men' on here, assuming i'm one of the "hardcore militant feminists." allowing women on this site to debate these issues without making immature personal attacks would be a huge step for *some* of the 'men' on here.
strange that the anti-feminists that have bothered to try and have an adult discussion with me have all become my friends. and some have noticed on their own that i speak out *for* marriage & family, and *for* equitably enforced laws for both sexes, among other things...
i agree that there's not much for feminism to do in the western world, but i also believe that women in developing countries need to have rights equal to those of the men in those countries. there's not much i can do about that, though.

You have named a few of the 'bad' Feminists, now can You name all the 'good' ones? We help 'real' Feminists by supporting Their rights and struggles rather than by trying to undermine the Feminist Movement.

@ Rebel F and ember halo
You can be what you want to be. Unfortunately some people want women to toe a party line and let themselves be absorbed into the feminista's collective hive mind. Stay the way you are, true free-thinkers, individuals with minds of your own.
