The mis-perception of critical thinkers is that people believe that critical thinkers are usually great, well known people... Thomas Edison, Bill Gates, George Washington. What they don't realize too much is that these people are simply good business man, and more or less quick thinkers about how to make money or make themselves popular. The critical thinkers are the people that don't look for fame and fortune, they come-up with ideas for the reason of creating a great idea.

Myself being an engineer, I consider myself a critical thinker and I have been around many many critical thinkers as well, some great, some not so great. Usually the best of critical thinkers don't seems as the most appealing people... Their focus is to create new ideas and find new ways of approaching the world, so there is no time to buy fashion clothing or develop charming personalities. These people genuenly believe that material expressions aren't necessary.

Ethics can be deceiving. The ideal critical thinker does not take ethics into consideration because ethics are a constriction to the thought pattern. Any new idea has to be developed free of barricades or objections. Hence fission and nuclear energy and war weapons and so on. If you channel you thinking into something more positive then you can achieve more ethical results. There are good thinkers from both evil and good sides, so it's up to the people and governments to decide which ideas they actually want to pursue.

Critical thinkers are the utmost important people in our lives. Entire educational structure didn't just come out of the ground. It was put in place by people who believe that this kind of regime can actually teach kids and adults alike. The system is not perfect, but with the help of some critical thinkers it can get better. Same goes for any kind of infrastructure that exists in our daily lives. We don't live just to survive anymore, so our focus is turning more toward making our lives better. It's a chaotic and unrestricted space we have here on earth and everyone affects it. Some people choose to float through it without self aware input and others choose to purposely and directly affect it with direct actions. When these actions come about through the pattern of critical thinking, then beautiful things can happen like sports, parks, transportation, and so on.

Common misconceptions confuse fact with opinion. Critical thinkers have an open mind. The ethics of critical thinking involves ethics, morals and documentation check on facts and sources. Expository writing concerns facts. Academic writing is formal and based upon critical thinking. Other forms of writing and thinking may include opinion, insight, experience and appropriate presentation of topic and subject.
