It is fair. If that is how he designed the class then you just have to deal. But I do see how you are frustrated. Talk to your teacher and see if there is any extra credit.

Tell your instructor how you feel about the fairness of the exam. Explain the score is not a reflection of you knowledge and skill in the subject.
If your instructor tells you what you want to here (whatever that is, makeup, advise, etc) then you got through; however, if your instructor dose not get it, talk to you counselor. If he or she dose not get it go to the principal.
In my school they also had a rule where students could challenge the grade they received in writing and submit it to the principal and vice-principal for review. Look in your school or English syllabus and see if there is something in their that can help you out with presenting a case to the principal if this continues.
GOOD LUCK!

4 questions for a test?? I have never heard of a teacher doing that. Well, you could talk to your parents first and see if this is something your class as a whole should go to the principle with their parents and bring up.

well if you where already aware of the test- no. its your fault you didn't study.
if it was a pop quiz/test then yes you should talk to him/her and ask why he/she/it made a test that you [and if the other ppl in the class struggled] and ur classmates have like a 2% chance to pass.
if he/she wont do anything, then just study for you next test and raise it. big tests are worth more then 4 questions most of the time. unless your teachers' weird...

If everybody did bad, the teacher will probably give you a retake or another quiz. My algebra 3 teacher gives us stupid quizes all the time. They usually contain 3-4 questions, and if you're like me, you end up missing one and failing the whole $&%*@ class. To make it up though, she keeps giving us more quizes, hoping that if we do good on them, it'll make up for our bad one before.

uggh i had a teacher who gave out 4 question quizzes bi-quarterly and I always got one wrong! What I asked was if she could possibly a) give me extra credit b) talk to her about my grades (teachers like when your concerned about your grade) c) give less 4 question quizzes.

I think you might do better in the class if you brushed up on your grammar.
