If it is too political, you can pass this question by. I checked yesterday in the News/media section but didn't see any topics on it. What do you think about privitizing health insurance? I hear people are having problems with their long-term insurance claims.

Mr. Bush has never been in favor of socialism. He doesn't want to see the government become mom and dad, as with France, and even Germany. There is currently health insurance for children of poverty. The S-chip would expand that to 21 year olds with parents earning up to 86,000 dollars a year. Bush saw this as a Democrat ploy to start a socialist society - to get everyone to depend on government instead of themselves.

I don't think that 25 year olds are children. Nor do I think that a family of four making $80,000/yr needs free health insurance. I think that nationalizing health insurance makes some sense but how can the government pay for it? Medicare is going broke and God knows how much longer social security will be paying. Congress messes up everything so I vote for them leaving health insurance alone!

Mr. Bush has never liked nor appreciated any government program that calls for government assistance of the governed. It is a basic Republican tenant and he of course is a traditional Republican conservative. He sought to redefine social security and could not on his watch see the passage of "government sponsored health care" even if that health care was for children.

One must in all good conscience ask why a sitting President would prefer....nay insist that money that could sponsor the health and care of our children be spent in Iraq forcing a democratic way of government that will not and cannot work?

While I never voted for Mr. Bush I would never think that he could betray our most precious resource....our children....but I have once again in the last seven years been proven wrong...he has betrayed us and continues to do so and unfortunately he will not be impeached so we must ride out the next 15 months until he is replaced.

The bill would have raised the ceiling for eligibility income. Children whose parents earned up to $83,000 a year would have qualified for free medical care. And the Federal government would have borne the burden, without any matching funds being put up by the states.

B$sh and his minions care nothing about the American people and they don't care if you know that they don't care. Every day they slap the American people in the face and don't even blink. Do you think Bush cares that we now know he lied to us about torture? Not one bit. All he cares is leaving office so he can go "fill the old coffers." What an arrogant jerk.
