Is it possible to text someone's phone from my computer? I don't have texting on my phone plan. I know that they have Cingular.

You can call Cingular customer service and ask. 800 331-0500.
Yes, you can. I do with U S Cellular. The address is entered as 8197555555@mms.uscc.net.
Cingular may be similar

Yes, on aol instant messanger you can enter their screename as
+1_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ (ie, if you were 650-666-6666) to message them on aim it could be entered as +16506666666.
On some of the newer versions of aim entering in a cell phone number is a bit more complicated, but I've personally been doing this for ages.
Once you enter the phone number in, it should show the phone as signed on, although the phones randomly sign on and off (I don't know why). With my buddy list about half the phone numbers I have entered are on/textable at any given time.
