When they say the baby is head down that doesn't mean you have dropped or labor is close. It just means that the babys position is with his head facing down ward baby usually turn head down around 32-34 wks. When the doctor says the baby has engaged that means you have dropped and the babys head is in the pelvis. if its not in the pelvis then it is floating. when you start dilating and have thining of the cervics then you are getting closer.

It means that the baby is in the right position to be born, and at 35 weeks I bet you're more than ready. And yes when the head goes down the baby has dropped...considering the head is the heaviest part of a baby's body.

The baby is getting ready for birth. Not everyone drops before labor they may drop while in labor. But its coming soon. Good Luck :)

It's humorous. One of my uncle's is a dr. Not even an obgyn, and he might think my belly and title off the constituents that he used to be touching. Although he admitted to being not sure approximately the elbow. I believe that this can be a magnificence that dr's take. I've under no circumstances identified an obgyn to be not sure after feeling as to what function the baby is in. Midwives both, I've had each. If you are pregnant adequate, you'll be able to frequently inform for your self.

Your baby is head down which indicates that right now he is in the proper position for a vaginal birth. It doesn't necessarily mean he has dropped nor that labor/birth is coming soon. Hope this helps. Birth blessings to you.

He's movin' into position, and getting the embers burnin' baby! :-) But remember, you've still got about a month... even though he's head-down, doesn't mean you'll go into labor tommorrow... he's just getting ready for the big show.

Good luck!!! And congrats!

it means that you baby is getting into where he should be for when it starts, it could mean labor is close but if you are not dilated at all then it will still be a few weeks probably

BUT he can still move all around but most likely will stay right there till its time !

My sons was head down and engaged at 34 weeks and I had to be induced at 41 weeks. It doesn't necessarily mean labor is near.

There's no accurate predictor of labor happening. Many babies drop days to weeks to months before labor. It will come when it's time. But be glad he/she has turned. This means everything is happening as it should. Good luck.

That your baby is facing down ward that is all.My doctor said my baby's head was down as early as the first ultra sound. They move around in there and flip.I even thought the flipping ended as soon as it is almost time to for the due date, no it does not .The doctor told me they can shift positions all the way to the due date.
