If you are trying to be sober, you should get a sponser from an AA meeting. They can help you and talk to you about how to get through the initial stages of becoming sober. Also, just try to not think about being sober. Just watch some TV until you fall asleep. One other suggestion is some tea called "sleepy tea" that helps calm you down to sleep. It is natural and is not addictive. You can buy it at the store I believe. I hope this helped and congrats on your sobriety.

Reading a boring book usually does it for me. The most boring one I can think of off hand is Gormanghast by Mervyn Peake - by what a load of rubbish this is!

Read a book does the trick for me but if you haven't done it for years how do you know you'll stuggle you don't know till you try!!

Give it a few days. Your body will realise it doesn't need to stay awake and you'll start sleeping properly.

Have a cup of cocoa, that will relax you! You could even have a hot bath that always makes me feel sleepy.
