I am named after a flower actually, though it is a little mystical name that my parents found from a baby names dictionary. There is supposed to be a rose tree in heaven with branches of silver and leaves of gold, a beautiful rose tree and its name is TUBA. So I am named after a heavenly rose. I love my name.

I worked for a Ruby...stuck up B!
I presently know two Roses. They work for the same grocery store too.
There is a Lily at the school.
And a boy named Emeraude (that's french for emerald).
I know a family named Diamond and the parents were a little "creative" with their children's names...Star, Pinky and Ebony (the boy).
I have a niece named Star Sapphire S_____b. I always told her father (my brother-in-law) that she would kill him some day, but he was a wanna-be hippy.
I know quite a few Chrystals (with many different spellings).
And a Daisy, Iris and Camillia.

I am sure that there must be a lot more, but my brain is old and going on strike...my daughter woke me up at 5:30 a.m. this morning to tell me there was a "chirping" coming from the furnace room. As I walked to the stairs, sure enough there was an intermittent chirp drifting up. I didn't even need to reach the bottom of the stairs to know that it was the battery-low indicator on the smoke alarm that is located just inside the furnace room door. I unplugged the battery (and forgot to buy a replacement--I definitely need to do that tomorrow).
