okay i know how to draw, i paint use pastel but i dont ussualy sketch so i decieded to try sketching faces...grrr every face sketch looks like a police profile sketch >.> i cant draw smiles, the face just does not look right to me. any tips?

Just try to see the lines. Don't think about what you are trying to draw or your result, just focus on what you see, proportions, angles. Sometimes starting with the nose is good, the bridge and from there seeing where the eyes are in relation. As a rule, the space between the eyes is about the width of an eye. As for mouths, they are tricky indeed. Try to focus on the little "u" in the top lip, and maybe just the bottom outline of the bottom lip, and not actually drawing the bottom lip. Make your pencil lines light until you see you have what you're aiming for, then darken in places for form. Thanks.

Try sketching the face from an off-center view point. In other words, have the subject turn a little away from you. That is always more interesting.

dont think so hard....just put a pen/pencil/conte/charcoal whatever...put it in your hand and start drawing. Once you are relaxed, then try an easy face. Like a Smiley face, then take it furthur.
DONT TRY SO HARD and it will look better...sounds weird huh...try it

sure, I have 2 eyeballs, one is alittle higher than the other, my nose flares like a bull when I smile and I have a pie hole.
