It's the body's way of fightng the infection by trying to wash it out. At the same time the body is aware that it's losing fluid so it tries to stop this by thickening the fluid!

Your nasal organs and lungs try to rid themselves of the infection by producing fluid. This then emulsifies and you get cataghre ( I can't spell it ) which produces what schoolboys from 8 to 80 call greenies
