Ron Paul was (some will say IS) an absolutely fringe candidate with little hope of success. But he's developed a devoted base, raised a lot of money, and a lot of interesting questions, some of which flies in the face of conventional GOP wisdom. Do you think his campaign's success will be noticed by the RNC? And if so, do you think it will result in any changes to the platform (maybe back to true fiscal conservatism)? Keep in mind that the socialists never won any elections, but by threatening the democrat's base they got their entire platform enacted. Can Ron Paul and his predominantly Libertarian base do the same?

They aren't going to listen to someone with a favorability/unfavorability rating of 25/33%. If anything, it'll make them want less to do with him.

No matter how much money Ron Paul gets he will never win the primary. If he continues to run as an independent (very unlikely) he will definitely not have a chance.
I wish the GOP would let men like Ron Paul lead the party again (he was once the norm of the Republican party... long before the social conservatives and neocons took it over) but hell would freeze over first.

Ron Paul is getting noticed. See the link at the bottom of this post from ABC news. He is growing in popularity in leaps and bounds.
Every Ron Paul supporter will go to the primary. Ron Paul supporters will be at all the conventions in force.
Here in Austin TX the only 2008 presidential signs you see are for Ron Paul and they are everywhere.
Our best chance for Liberty is to create a titlewave of public opinion so strong that the RNC will be forced with extinction if it does not reform.
The truth is on our side. The neo-cons will not be able to stop it. Pandora's box has been opened. Join the Revolution, we can have freedom in our lifetime.

Don't count on it. If the RNC can ignore Blacks, Latinos & Gays -the sum total of 15% of their OWN electorate, -they're NOT going to pay much attention to Paul's paltry 2% in the Polls towards the next Election.

Ron Paul is a free-thinker and does not tow the party line. For those reasons the RNC will NEVER acknowledge him.

Don't get your hopes up. His base is a bunch of 20 somethings on the Internet. He doesn't play well amongst those over 30 and in most of the real world. His lots of money is small compared to that raised by others. I suggest he is in fact a L O S E R.

No. If the crazy kook would have kept his mouth shut about what he believed happened on 9/11, I suppose he would have a larger base and more respect. But he didn't, and now people see him as a crazy loon. At least I do.

Yes.
IF he is ever noticed by the People.
IF he has any success with his campaign, he could be an influence.
His supporters, although few, are very dedicated.

He doesn't fit their anti-Islamic, ultra evangelical, elitist, war mongering, corporate whore mold... so not likely.
