What song should I choose!? I have a voice range from alto to high saprano. It can't be one of those over-used audition songs and it can't be something too "young" because if they think I'm too young, they won't let me in the play. It'd also help if you could tell me how to look my age. I look about twelve, but I'm actually fourteen. Should I wear a certain style of makeup? A certain style of clothes? But, most importantly, please tell me what song to sing!

I always felt that the song from Carousel:
When you walk thru a storm (or something like that) that Shirley Jones sang really worked the vocal cords and was very inspirational. It's one of my favorite of all songs.
Makeup & dress. Little dabs to highlight your eyes (eyeliner) with soft color tones, lipstick, and some blush to keep you from appearing bleached. And clothes of someone 5 yrs older, feminine, crisp and traditional would work fine. Good Luck - Break a Leg...as the saying goes!!!

ok first of all breathe. I am an actor and i know that if you are all uptight when you go to audition that the director or whoever is managing the auditions will see that and judge you from it. Secondly, don't wear too much makeup because the whole point of casting someone is that you will either be exactly what the director wants in that character or that you will be easily shapable into that person and easy to work with. You need to project an air of flexibility. As for what to sing, you probably want to go with something that is not rap, hiphop, pop or rock. Do something country or a baptist hymn.
I usually end up singing a hymn when I audition because they can be done in duets or alone and they can be sung in a wide variety of rages.
I hope all goes well!! best of luck!!
