No squared. Combine like terms.
you get 10+3x
You cannot add anything that is not a like term. You can add -4x and 7x, but you cannot add -4x and 10.
Multiplication is different however. You can multiply unlike terms, which is probably what you are confused wth.

first of all you need to do order of operations:
1. you combine like-terms- this means the 4x and 7x
2. rewrite the problem; 10 - 11x
what you did wrong was add all of the numbers together and forget about the variable
so the answer should be 10- 11x

You have to add the 4x and 7x. You can't do any thing to the 4x and 7x to get a square..
10-4x+7x
-4x+7x= 3x (think of it as 7x-4x)
you get 3x+10

10 is a number by itself that you can't combine with anything else. -4x + 7x = 3x
So the answer is 10 + 3x

10-4x+7x
7x - 4x =3x (drop down)
3x + 10.
Variable always goes before a nonvariable.

1st of all you have to combine like terms ( 4x and 7x)
that equals 11x
then 10-11x
10-11 is -1
so the answer is -1x very simple
