Hello, Banshee. I'm not sure what inspired you to ask this question but I automatically thought about the White Elephant which in some cultures is almost legendary.
I hope you find your answer but at least you might learn something new from the Thai, Burmese, Laotian, Cambodian culture:

I also thought about the Purple Elephant. The "heffalump" is said to possibly be an elephant through a child's eyes. Also interesting:

It is grey on top and pink in the inside ---so you can say an elephant is grey and pink ,both 50:50

A normal elephant is grey which is fine.The pink elephant means hallucinating on alcohol.Which is very bad.I should know.

It depends on the type (canny spell species) I have noticed in pictures of Indian elephants the can have pink skin tones here and there.

Well the answer is GREY.But after a few JD'S they are Pink and not so big.
