Anytime.
In winter it is colder, in July and August it can be hot.
I have been there in December / January, March/April and September, and at all times I liked the city.
In winter just make sure you have a warm coat and do things inside.

well, not may for sure. i was there last year (in may) and it was soooo rainy. so choose one of the summer months and have fun
