RIGHT NOW! What's going on, will this craving come and go for the rest of my life? I smoked for 20 years. I'm going to fight it, no sense giving in. Wish me luck?

I quit drugs 8 yrs ago and still get the craving for a moment or two. It has become less frequent and weaker over time. Instead of thinking "the rest of my life" when I get the craving, I think "the next 10 minutes" or "the rest of today". Hope this helps and good luck.

The cravings are going to be there for a long time. I quit smoking for two years and got a craving to smoke. So i smoked one and couldn't stop. It took me another 2 years to quit. BEST ADVICE SMOKE A CIGAR AND INHARE THE WHOLE THING. That will help with the cravings! It will also make you really sick

Good luck! Don't give in 2 years is too long to ruin!

I've heard that many people who quit 20 years ago sometimes have a sudden urge to smoke but then it passes. So, hang in there!

good luck! I quit too! but I was more of a social smoker like on breaks with co-workers or after a few drinks at the bar. Then I got real sick with a ruthless sinus infection and I knew it was from the smoking. Plus I don't miss waking up and coughing up that thick brown stuff! my hands, clothes, and hair don't stink anymore, and I don't have people always bumming cigs off of me anymore! take it one day at a time and chew gum! you're right...no sense giving in after all your hard work!

You are doing the right thing to fight it! Hang in there. That's a long time ago that you quit. I thought the cravings would have stopped by now, but you're doing good!

Keep up the good work... I too was a smoker for many years.... but have since quit. I see it like alcoholism... it's a disease that we will forever fight.... just don't put yourself in the predictament to fail... you can do it... we all can!!! Find something to stave off a craving... hard candy, straws... whatever... just don't be a weakling and crack!

I quit 10 months ago and I have cravings all the time, but do I want to pollute my lungs, get sick, cough a lot, wake up in the morning just to feel horrible, get headaches, stress out when I don't have one, etc.....

If I can do it, you can do it!
