I am very talented at acting, but before auditions I always freak and don't show. What should I do?

You better start showing or forget about it. You are obviously having moments of feeling inadequate and stage fright. Your saying you are very talented is a self deception. Let's say you think you would like to act if you have a chance, and here is how to get that chance. Now look. Ever think why acting is called playing? That's because it is exactly what children do when they play. And it sure is fun! So you need to look at all acting opportunities, including auditions as an opportunity to play and have fun. The rules of be quiet and sit still are out the window. You now have the chance to perform and be a kid again. Oh and don't blow off preparation for the auditions. The roles go to the best prepared.

How on Earth can you know if you are talented when you don't even audition?

YOU do not decide whether or not you are talented. Your audience decides. No audition, no audience.

Do not be afraid to be BAD. I have stunk up an audition many times, and I am still alive.

You will never work if you continue to bail auditions. You cannot be hired if you cannot be seen. Stop shooting yourself in the foot, and risk humiliation.

Risk brilliance, as well.

Well you can't get a part if you don't show up now can you? Check out online tips about stage fright, but the best advice I have is to be as prepared as you can be and then you'll know that all you can do is give it your best shot and if they take you 'great'! If not, then it's their loss.
