I went to my Mechanic to have my SUV serviced & checked out for a Long Distance road trip. ( Michigan - Cali)
The Mechanic found out I have a "Bad tie-Rod"!
How dangerous would it have been if I hadn't had the vehicle checked out?

I'm also going to be pulling a small utility trailer.

So Far It sounds like I'm doing the right thing by getting it fixed today! Even if it is a bit expensive!
Whew< I'm glad I argued with my husband and insisted that we get the car totally checked out before hitting the road!

It all depends how bad that it was. If it was just kind of loose then you would have been fine to drive it. If it was really bad it could break at the joint and you could lose steering on that side.

Can be very bad. If you hit a bump the wrong way you can loose all steering control and one tire can turn the other way of the other if that tie rod breaks. Get it fixed ASAP

Well it all depends on if it falls off or not.If it falls off you will not be able to control your vehicle. After you lose control of your vehicle you may hurt yourself or someone else.If you are going to pull a trailer it increases the danger because of the added weight.

You should go to a tire place or alignment shop. It shouldn't be expensive at all to replace, and you will need a proper alignment when it's done.
