Lets see.....
Warren Buffet stated that he wondered why he was paying less taxes as a percentage of his income than his employees.
In case your wondering Buffet is the second richest person in America, just a few billion less than Bill Gates.
In the 2004 Presidential election Mrs. Kerry was taxed about 7% on her income. (obtained from her tax records)
So do they pay for social programs? Yes and no. Yes they do, but far less than they should.
What happens if they raise taxes on the rich? Not much as the rich folks use one nice tax loophole to keep lots of money:
Tax free municipal bonds. (NO Federal Tax on income generated from these bonds)

Yes, and unfortunately the lion's share of those tax dollas go to padding the pockets of Haliburton, and other members of the Military Industrial Complex.

Of course they do, they would just rather help the working poor feed and house their child than help haliburton make another record profit! Unfortunately corporate welfare costs us MUCH more than helping the working poor!

Of course.
Unfortunately, of late, we're also paying through the nose for military work in Iraq.
As to the comment below, its hogwash. The majority of liberals (and the majority of conservatives) are adding money to the system, not taking it out.
The comment below is purely conservative propaganda.
