I've been searching and searching and searching but I can't seem to figure it out! I''ve looked everywhere on Yahoo! Answers... NOTHING! Please help. Is it new this year? What does it represent? Is it just quarterbacks? What does it mean!?!?

Whoa, slow down man, one thing at a time.
I'm still trying to find some information on the whole Michael Vick "thingy". I'm not able to find anything on Yahoo! Answers about it! I don't know what he did wrong? Something about the Georgia Bulldogs and Steve Spurrier's Cocks were fighting, I think. But I'm still on the search. When I find out that, I want to find out what Bill Belichick did and then I'll try and dig into this whole "green dot" issue... But my first instinct tells me it's some kind of National Security warning, maybe like a TEAL alert or something? They're trying to warn everyone to be on the look-out for Patriot Spies...... Just a gut feeling, I don't know, I could be way off....

When a helmet is wired it has to have a green dot on it. It is a new league rule that is in place for this year. Every helmet that is radio wired has to have a sticker.

its the player on the field that the refs need to keep an eye on for stealing defensive signs. did you ever notice how the qb periodically makes hand gestures during an audible? this is also a signal to the coaches to what the defenders are doing. the nfl had actually thought about putting a green sticker on all the patriots helmets, but thought it would raise to many questions about the green stickers.

The green dot is for Madden 2009. There will be a new quarterbacking system where one lucky fan ACTUALLY gets to control his favorite team's qb and call the plays! It's all in testing now, so only game testers have been allowed to use it, but it will be ready for next year.

ps - i love how people STILL actually answered the question with "it's a transmitter" lol - It's clearly a joke people!

The green dot is for the QB who has the communications unit where they give him the plays and talks to the coach. Also it serves as a fashion statement they look cool.
