Tell me if this sounds fishy to you, i gave my two weeks and my last day was to be the 11th of october. Yesturday we had a big mandatory meeting with the HR lawyer, the usual stuff, harassment and so forth but they wouldnt let me in. They said it was cuz i was leaving in a week, then he did one on one meetings and they wouldnt tell him i wanted to talk to him. So finally he agrees to talk to me and i had questions about getting compensated for work i did 6 months prior, but never heard back from my managers about. So he says that he will pay me up to the 11th but i cant work there, i have to stay home. I said what if i dont want to do that, and he says i have no choice. Is this true? Did i not have a choice but to leave? Ive never met this HR guy before and i believe the reason they told me to leave was because they are not running the place legally and they think i know too much. dont know what else it could be since ive never even been close to being written up never been in trouble?

Get the pay arrangement in writing and signed. Yes, they can force you to accept that. It has to do with security issues. Many people who leave a job, get as much information as they can and use it in their next job. They have also been known to steal from the company before leaving or starting problems with other employees. I am surprised they didn't just let you go with some phony excuse and no pay. I worked for a company in Florida that required a 2 week notice, but as soon as you gave it, you were gone.
