I see that statement multiple times a day on YA! What I find most amusing is that often times they are saying it to Vets who have already served in Iraq and Afghanistan. The practice displays a total lack of respect as well as an obvious ignorance. As to your other statement I am not sure that I agree with the characterizations there either. I am against lifetime entitlements, but not all social programs are useless and not everyone who requires some assistance does not understand the value of work. The real point here is that while the statement to which you refer might upset you, two wrongs do not make a right. Always strive for the high road in all things.

many americans that are in iraq are doing their job. they enlisted for the benefits and their country. being in iraq does not mean that you support the intent of the war, only that you are obeying orders and fulfilling your contract. however, i feel there are some pro-war military, but certainly not all or even most.

the well to do in this country have avoided military service. again this is not absolute, but to a high percentage, i would say is true. i would also say the well to do are to a high percentage republican. thus i feel that they would be against the social programs of which you speak.

since i will pay for the war eventually, when the bonds are due, or my kids and grandkids will, i also agree to pay for the social programs which you say are worthless.

for every person that abuses the system, how many use it properly? if it were guns that we were talking about, or alcohol, would you ban guns or alcohol because a very small percentage of users abused that use? i feel you and your type would be incensed and talking about their constitutional rights to bear arms and have a cold one.

Also by that logic, the people that support intervention in Darfur should go to Sudan and fight for the people of Darfur. And, people that support the Buddhist Monks in Burma, they should go to Myanmar and help over throw the government there.
It is so amazing to me that the SAME people that want us OUT of Iraq want us IN Darfur. Certainly there is a lot more strategic reasons to be in Iraq than Sudan. I suppose that if the people of Iraq were black, then it would be ok.

Democrats want us to live by their expectations, but they are exempt from these standards. Social programs are horribly abused by lazy people who don't want to work, at least our military has a purpose and is successful. These programs don't help many of the people who need them, just the people who have children just to get more on their foodstamps.

For those who don't know, Andy G's avatar AND his profile say this man has served in the Marines. He's not a poser pretending to have served, he's the real deal. Shame on those of you saying he hasn't. I don't serve in the military, but I am a proud wife of a Marine who has served 8 plus years and will continue until he retires.

I am one of those who said, "if you support the Iraq war then go there". But my taxes are going not only to the war, but those 'worthless' social programs you fail to identify in your rant. At least the worthless social programs aren't killing anybody and have chances of success. NO ONE says the same thing about the moronic idiotic war except your guru W and his Dick mouthpiece. By the way, the war was over after Saddam was captured AND NO WMD's were found. What you are supporting now is an occupation of a sovereign state, ala Hitler and Poland, Hussein and Kuwait, etc.

Good point. I support the soldiers and the war. Doesn't mean I have to go fight. Just like I support gay rights to be married or whatever. Doesn't mean I have to go marry a homosexual. Most Libs support abortion rights and stem cell research also. So why don't they volunteer their first fetus for the occasion? They support death in the case of someone making a mistake in not using birth control. But they don't support the war in which they also claim are deaths because of a mistake. That's pretty much the same thing.

An assinine question asked by a liberal that has never served in the military.

Those libs won't have their kids go into the military, because they are weakknee'd spinless idiots that want to control every aspect of a persons life.

Their great society "Communism" failed like it was destined to do because man will rebell when confronted with a government that has to control all aspects of a persons life.

Yes, they should. Libs paying in more taxes is more realistic than 50 million Americans suddenly up and leaving their families and jobs throwing on a pair of fatigues and jumping a plane for Iraq.
