I hope not. I think I'm honest and genuine but I do try not to hurt people's feelings. I try to keep the peace. I don't always speak my mind but will when I feel comfortable enough to do. I'm considerate.
My husband is honest and direct. It's a reason I hold back at times because I don't want a fight. He can fight mean. He is a great person. No one is perfect, lest of all me. His children are honest for the most part. But they don't have a lot of compassion and tend to act selfish.
I prefer genuine people that are considerate of others. I like people that are direct and honest with me because I can take it unless they are attacking me. I don't think anyone likes that. My husband does that to me and it's why I hold back.
But he knows how I feel. I'm very vocal about opinions. But I'm also not in love with any of them. I know I could be wrong. He can admit he's wrong but it takes some time. It does get tiresome when he tells me that I'm right a lot. I don't care. Why did you attack me? I wish I could say that to him. I can't help that I'm smart sometimes or maybe I think differently.
I hear you catsovermen. I don't have many friends. But it's more of a time thing now. work/school/family. But my friends were not popular and were genuine. They weren't afraid to tell you the truth. No one was fake nice. I love that. My husband's ex is one of the people who speak about. She's fake nice. I can't stand it. It's such a joke. She's a big time follower too. Keep up with the Jones. These people are really shortchanging themselves. Be glad we aren't that way.
I'll be friends with you. :) I love cats. I have 2 and I do volunteer work with cats.

No, not all people are a bunch of fake lying shmooks.
Some Genuine/Real people are still around and are surviving...lol.. But I might say possibly at least 95% of people might be plastic, and 5% are Real. It is best to learn to recognise who is who, like develope a 'Radar'. People can always disappoint us, because no-ones perfect. And in some way we can all disappoint each other in some way, at some stage or other. But I think a 'Radar' is the Go!

Wow, someone has had a bad day. No, society didn't kill them, although they sure do try. I am a genuine person, and my reward is no friends. When one realizes that society doesn't want "real" people; they want "nice" people, "congenial" people. When faced with a person who goes against the conformist grain and dresses for comfort, not for fashion, doesn't dye their hair, etc., etc., it makes them uncomfortable. Therefore, most people conform so the "fit in".
