just finished off kids in general. Sesame Street Syndrome is rampant everywhere. And no one knows how to spell anymore. I blame the low level of TV. And it could have been a good thing

not in my house. Last night my 12 year old and I played 3 games of Trivial Pursuit Jr. He won 2 out of 3 games.

Video games have killed board games for kids, and going outside to play, and sports. Not to mention making kids fat, cause they dont get enough excercise now.

No don't think so - my neices and nephews all play chess and Monopoly etc. It's a totally different experience from watching the tv and it lets them unleash their sibling rivalry on each other.

when it rained in the summer hols there was no daytime tv so you stopped in and played board games...now i don't think kids would have the patience

Don"t put all the blame on T.V. ! It is the parents that got them hooked. Then there is the internet, video games.

Never. I force my children to play monopoly and scrabble on a regular basis. They have got so used to it that sometimes they don't even cry.
