I love the Eagles "Already Gone" with the lyrics "So often times it happens that we live our lives in chains
And we never even know we have the key "

Firefall - Headed For A Fall - album Undertow (1980)

You can't lose your troubles in the bubbles of your wine
It only makes them easier to find

Hank Williams, Jr. - The American Dream (1983)

Now there are some preachers on TV, with a suit and a tie and a vest
They want you to send the money to the Lord but they give you their address

Skylark - Wildflower (eponoymous debut - 1972)
Canadian band was made from backing group for Ronnie Hawkins, including 80's Grammy-winner keyboard player and producer David Foster. I nominate the whole song, but here's just the chorus:

Let her cry, for she's a lady..let her dream for she's a child
Let the rain fall down upon her..she's a free and gentle flower growing wild

And finally, I will get flak for saying Green Day did this, but what a cleanup effort on the strongest lyrics in any Beatles' solos catalog! This song is so accurate on the difference between white collar and blue collar classes in any civilized country, and even some less civilized ones (Sudan?)

Green Day - Working Class Hero (written by John Lennon)
Original work on John Lennon/Plastic Ono Band (1970)
Green Day's version on the John Lennon tribute album Instant Karma: The Amnesty International Campaign To Save Darfur (2007).

Well, they've tortured and scared you for twenty odd years,
Then they expect you to pick a career,
When you can't really function, you're so full of fear.
A working class hero is something to be,
A working class hero is something to be.

Hi Kakeydec,

My hands down, bar none favorite lyric of any song ever is from Blink 182. Its a line from "What's my age again?"

Then later on, on the drive home
I called her mom from a pay phone
I said I was the cops
And your husband’s in jail
This state looks down on sodomy

And that’s about the time that b***h hung up on me
Nobody likes you when you’re 23
And are still more amused by prank phone calls
What the hell is caller ID?
My friends say I should act my age
What’s my age again?

Classic=) 2nd favorite line is from Flagpole Sitta by Harvey Danger :

Been around the world and found
That only stupid people are breeding,
The cretins cloning and feeding,
And I don't even own a TV
Put me in the hospital for nerves
And then they had to commit me,
You told them all i was crazy,
They cut off my legs now i'm an amputee,
(*** **** you)

Peace=)

"Is this what you call tact? I swear you're as subtle as a brick to the small of my back" Taking Back Sunday - There's No "I" In Team

"I wanna tear apart your room
to see if what you say is true
Darling don't you lie, lie to me
I wanna break into your heart
to see why you want us apart
Oh, I'm scared to death to find out what you think of me
Fate is an elegant, cold-hearted whore
She loves salting my wounds
Yes, she enjoys nothing more
I bleed confidence from deep within my guts now
I'm the king of this pity party with my jewel encrusted crown
According to you we don't click,
that's a blatant lie and you know it
Angel, what are you hiding from me?" The Spill Canvas - Polygraph Right Now

"Hoping for the best just hoping nothing happens
A thousand clever lines unread on clever napkins
I will never ask if you don't ever tell me
I know you well enough to know you'll never love me" Taking Back Sunday - Cute Without The E

"Fate fell short this time, your smile fades in the summer
Place your hand in mine, I'll leave when I wanna" Blink 182 - Feeling This

"Tidal waves they rip right through me
Tears from eyes worn cold and sad
Pick me up now, I need you so bad" Blink 182 - Down

"So here's your Valentine
Bouquet of clumsy words
A simple melody
This world's an ugly place
But you're so beautiful to me" Blink 182 - Going Away To College

Battle of the Beanfield by the Levellers

I thought I heard someone calling me
I'd seen the pictures on TV
And I made up my mind that I'd go and see
With my own eyes.
It didn't take too long to hitch a ride
With a guy going south to start a new life
Past the place where my friend died
Two years ago.
Down the 303 at the end of the road
Flashing lights - exclusion zones
And it made me think "it's not just the stones
That they're guarding".

Hey, hey, now can't you see
There's nothing here that you can call free
They're getting their kicks
By laughing at you and me.

As the sun rose on the beanfield
They came like wolves on the fold
And no, they didn't give a warning
They took their bloody toll.
I saw a pregnant woman
Lying in blood of her own
I saw her children crying
As the police tore apart their home.
And no they didn't need a reason -
It's what your votes condone.
It seems they were committing treason
By trying to live on the road

And I say,
Hey, hey, now can't you see
There's nothing here that you can call free
By laughing at you and me

Hey, hey, now can't you see
There's nothing here that you can call free
They're getting their kicks
By laughing at you and me
B**t**ds!

Remember what you heard,
Hey, hey, now can't you see
There's nothing here that you can call free
They're getting their kicks
By laughing at you and me

The opening lyric to Rocky Mountain High:

He was born in the summer of his 27th year.
Coming home to a place he'd never been before.
He left yesterday behind him, you might say he was born again.
You might say he found the key to every door.

properly I even have some songs caught in my head like foo fighters pretender and framing hanleys lollipop yet my famous musical lyric would probable could be someplace in one in all 3 songs! *(Into the night(santanna feat. Chad Kroeger) choose the flow away and persist with me (the two with the help of uncle kracker))* All 3 of the songs get me in a greater useful temper as quickly as I hear to them!

I'm going "real" musical here with Avenue Q:

It's...
Schadenfreude!
Making me feel glad that I'm not you.
Well that's not very nice, Gary!
I didn't say it was nice! But everybody does it!
D'ja ever clap when a waitress falls and drops a tray of glasses?
Yeah...
And ain't it fun to watch figure skaters falling on their asses?
Sure!
And don'tcha feel all warm and cozy,
Watching people out in the rain!
You bet!
That's...
Schadenfreude!
People taking pleasure in your pain!
