they are not empty cartridges and are color and black

Sounds like the other color's are empty or close. Time to clean / Change the cartridges.

Apparently with this printer you have to have both black & colour cartridges in place & ok for printer to work properly- if you on black & it showing red, perhaps black cartridge low/empty? Suggest replace whichever cartridge lowest! good luck.

Have you check your cartridge status, maybe the other colours have run out, it not try re-installing your printers disc if this fails either call in the doctor or buy another printer

i had the very same problem them printers need serviced after a certain amount of time and you have to send it back to epson its there way of getting more money from u there is nothing you can do

sounds like you need to replace one of the cartridges.

You can go to 'Maintenance' and clean the print heads. This will waste some ink, but at least your color balance will be corrected. ;-)
