It’s simple to some, and deep to others, depending on who you are
Two Scriptures come to mind, Rom. 8:6 and 1 Cor. 2:13-14, they make a distinction between the Spirit(ual) and the Carnal/flesh
If you are a spiritual person, you think the glass is half full, and if you think that, you’re not going to go and get some more
But if you are what the Scriptures call carnal minded, then you might see the glass as half empty and for that you might get more, not seeing that you still have a lot left, and you can run out of whatever beverage you have. That can cause greed, buying more than you really need, and you become less conservative.
Carnal mind is death means nothing good will come out of it, there's no benefits, it's useless and worthless.
To be spiritual means to see things the way God sees it
We may see an empty refrigerator, but God sees an opportunity to put our faith and His word into action.
My God shall supply all your need
And whatever things you ask in prayer, believing, you will receive
If you ask anything in My name, I will do it (Philippians 4:19; Mark 11:23-24; Matt. 7:7 John 14:14; 15, 7, 16; John 16:23-24)
Some see an empty fridge and began to say "We're gonna die of starvation"
Others see an empty fridge and use it as an opportunity to give up on God and stop believing and/or they would go to a life of crime (robbery, killing, selling drugs, etc.), which results in jail/prison time, or possibly being killed
God doesn’t think “rob a person/bank/grocery store” “burglarize someone’s house/apartment” “Kill that person and still there money/clothes/shoes…” “Sell illegal substances/stolen property…” That’s a Carnal minded person, and that produces death
God doesn’t see “You’re gonna die [of starvation/death]”
God sees hope, God sees the sun shining tomorrow, God sees a way out, a way through, a way in
Scriptures says that God is Spirit (John 4:24), so we have to see things how the [Holy] Spirit sees them, which makes us spiritual
I will give you this:
It’s simple because all you have to do is say it and believe it
But it’s not simple because you have to, not only say it, but believe it

If spirituality was easy to recognize in simplicity than everybody would claim to be spiritual.
Spirituality is deep in all its depth.

In essence, I think it exists in simplicity. It is a way of being, a belief, a deep-felt personal feeling that is extremely positive at its best. But it is humans who have interpreted spirituality in many different ways, and dressed it up in different religious and non-religious belief systems, thus complicating it.

First let me give you a great big California Moooooo!
Okay, for me there was a complicated set of facts I had to digest and assimilate in order to have a simple understanding and faith.
Without a strong foundation my 'simple' faith would be tossed about with every wind (Eph. 4:14)

spirituality is complex; it has many layers, therefore it's something deeper.
