Its one of the top 3 reasons marriages fail my friend. There have been studies done to support the theory as well.

Yes. From the National Institute of Duh.
Look, marriage is tough. It's hard work to keep a marriage purring along, even under the best of circumstances.
Add money problems to the mix, and you have a lot of additional stress. There's simply no way around it. Because the lack of money affects so many aspects of the relationship, from your home to your ability to adequately raise your children to enjoying all the little amenities that make life fun.
Women, especially, need security. That's why money is important to them, more so than men. It doesn't make them shallow. Women are just more practical creatures than men. They need to know where the next meal or house payment is coming from.

i don't know if theres any study on it but basing it on experience i can say yes it will destroy a marriage. when u go into a marriage there are certain expectations, as there should be. we imagine how we want our lives to be and if for some reason their is some financial difficulty where it creates a hardship and your expectations are not materializing people will seek to escape what hurts them, what they can't work out.

There's no need for a study, sure it effects a marriage. If you have no money, you can't do anything. If you have very little money you can't do much. You can't live in a house, you can't eat, you can't have vacations, you can't have toys. Sucks!
